Matthew 25:35-40

35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Our Mission

The mission of the Hattie B. Williams Food Pantry is to help eradicate hunger one family at a time. We serve all of South Suburban Cook County in Illinois.

Annie Hill runs the VKMI Hattie B. Williams food pantry that her sister launched 25 years ago in South Holland. Annie Hill, whose pastor asked her to assume leadership in the pantry in 2014 after her sister Williams died suddenly. Hill always credits her dedicated volunteers with helping the pantry serve others, "when Hattie was here she had maybe four to five faithful people who volunteered, after she passed many people came forward and wanted to volunteer because of the impact she had in their lives. She was a giver. We now have probably 20 people who regularly volunteer". Said Annie Hill.

The Hattie B. Williams Food Pantry is part of Valley Kingdom Ministries International Church in Oak Forest, which provides food bags with breakfast and lunch items to assist needy families. A few years ago, the pantry fulfilled some of Hattie's goals of offering Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) outreach and partnering with local grocery stores as part of the Food Rescue Program.

"People have to eat", " I don't care what color you are, I don't care what your background is. Food is something that brings us together. It's a comfort...We just want to make sure people are eating." Said Annie Hill.

The pantry operates from Thursday 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and  9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. every Friday of the month. Donations can also be made directly to HBW.
